Hello! Sorry for writing in English. It was noted that on this wiki there is little community activity around uploads: less than 50 "Disfacer" actions in "Imådje" last year.

I guess this wiki doesn't have the interest or energies to maintain complex templates and metadata, especially for EDP files. I propose to

• send users to commons:Special:UploadWizard from the sidebar and
• limit local "Eberweter on fitchî" to the "Manaedjeus" group (for any emergency uploads),

so that no new work is needed on this wiki and all users can have a functioning, easy upload interface in their own language. All registered users can upload on Commons.

All this will be done around 2014-09-30.

1. If you disagree with the proposal, just remove this wiki from the list.
2. To make the UploadWizard even better, please tell your experience and ideas on commons:Commons:Upload Wizard feedback.
3. In all cases, existing files will not be affected, but everyone is welcome to join m:File metadata cleanup drive. The goal is to give better credit to the authors who provided us their works.

Cleanup in licenses

Hi! I a cleanup in licenses is needed. The list should only include licenses mentioned in Categoreye:Licinces. For example I suggest to add Cc-by-sa-4.0 and remove GFDL (GFDL is a bad license for files so no need to suggest that). --MGA73 (copene) 14 d' avri 2020 a 09:17 (UTC)

Background info: GFDL is meant for software and it is not good for media because it makes it difficult to re-use the material. Motivated by the the wish of making it easier to re-use files Wikimedia Foundation Board decided in 2009 to stop using GFDL as a sole license per this message. --MGA73 (copene) 14 d' avri 2021 a 14:23 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Licenses is used during upload and will create a drop down list with licenses uploader Can chose. The first part is the name of the template (here GFDL) and the text after the | is the description user will see in the drop down list. An example on pa:ਤਸਵੀਰ:Pawiki upload.png. As you can see 3 templates do not exist (the links are red). So I would remove those.

The last template (non-commercial) is not allowed. So I would also remove that.

I do not understand the text on Template:PD but there should be different templates for files released into PD by the uploader (example "PD-self") and files where copyright have expired (example "PD-old-70"). What is the difference between Template:PD and Modele:Licince DP? Also PD-self is not an actual license so it is perhaps better to use Cc-zero (see below).

The first 2 Creative Commons templates are redirects that points to version 3.0. But the latest version is 4.0. So I would change so there is 4.0 both before and after the "|". Doing that and adding Cc-zero as mentioned above will give:

  • Cc-zero|Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication (could of course be tranlated)

Hello,

I modified the article with the text you gave between the "----"'s. The three red lines indicate CC-BY-SA licenses that are only available in three coutries, respectively: Belgium, Canada and France. Concerning both – Template:PD and Modele:Licince DP – there are just duplicates. Both means that a file has either no rights or the rights have disappeared after the 71st year of the author's death. I've also added "CC-zero" and "CC-BY-4.0" templates in the principal article.

Sorry! The links was only supposed to be used on the discussion page to make it easier for you and me to see the licenses. I do not think the upload will work unless you remove the links again.

The text next to Cc-zero "(could of course be tranlated)" was my comment to you that you could of course translate the English text into Walloon.

I think you should remove the 3 lines for Belgium, Canada and France because there is no reason for users on Walloon Wikipedia to chose those licenses. Also there is no license template. I also think you should remove the line with "licince imådjes nén comerciåles" because that license is not allowed. There is no reason to suggest users to upload files with a license that will get the files deleted.

If the 2 templates with PD basicly say the same I suggest to rename one of them to PD-self and the other to PD-old-70. --MGA73 (copene) 28 di may 2021 a 13:47 (UTC)

Ok, the Canadese, French and Belgian version of CC-BY-SA have been erased. I created two different DP-templates, but I still need to verify the files in which those templates are employed. The line with "licince imådjes nén comerciåles" has been erased, as well.
