Pictures of Jean-Pol Grandmont on mushrooms

This contributor has made many pages on mushrooms in the beginning of Walloon Wikipedia, loading up photographs, probably of his own. Later on, with newly born "Commons", he moved them over there, under licence {{|Permission={{User:Jean-Pol GRANDMONT/Credit}}; see, i.e. 0 Château d'Havré (3).JPG. Unfortunately, he leaved us for unknown reasons in the 2010's.

See if the pictures uploaded on Walloon Wikipedia have to be deleted or not.

Problems with categories

Dear MGA73,
I have a problem with my categories here. Actually when I upload a map in an article, a category, whose name is "Categoreye:Pages avec des cartes", adds itself. The problem is that "Pages avec des cartes" is not a Walloon sentence, but a French one. Therefore, I would like to move all pages with this category on another, whose name is Categoreye:Pådjes avou des mapes, and who's the Walloon translation of the French sentence. Could you help me to fix this?

Deletation

These two files: File:VanMelkebeek.jpg and File:VanMelkebeeke2.jpg has been moved on Commons. But I'm going to ask their deletation because the author isn't Djozewal, but Jacques Van Melkebeke who died in 1983. Not yet in the public domain. Trademark

Hello Michael,
I have a question concerning trademark pictures, especially regarding brands. Can I post one of them (that are on Commons, of course) on my articles without any further authorisation? For instance, I created an article about Leffe, which is a Walloon abbey beer, and I would like to upload a Commons image that represents the logo of that beer brand.

Question concerning copyright

Hello Michael,
It's been a long time, huh! :-) Hope you're fine.
I have a question about a French masterpiece (Le Petit Prince – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry). This book came out in 1943, and the author passed away in 1944. Seeing that this author has been dead for more than 70 years, there is no license on this book anymore in Belgium. This book was translated into Walloon in 2000. The translator gave his permission to be published on Wikimedia websites. My question is: may we publish this translation on the Walloon Wikisource?

Hi Èl-Gueuye-Noere! Yes it has been a while and I'm good. Been busy at Japanese Wikipedia. Almost done there (ja:利用者:MGA73/Status) - more than 80k files fixed :-)

I would say that if it is just a simple translation then there is no copyright. But I know in Denmark there was a case with the translation of a song where the translater was thought to have copyright because of the creative work (it had to rime).

To be safe perhaps translator could send the permission to c:COM:VRT? If book is scanned as a PDF / DJVU then the permission could be connected to that file. --MGA73 (copene) 14 di djulete 2023 a 18:33 (UTC)
